Good old summertime just seems to put life in fast forward mode.

The longer days provide not only more daylight but more activities.

More time for games, picnics, fishing and yard work,

but too often less time for God.  More hours are given to the great outdoors,

but fewer moments in personal relationship

with the Creator of such.  A week-long vacation is

often book-ended by two weekends of absence from God’s house.

These few words that I pass along to you each month are often filled with gratitude

for your generous giving, as they should be. More than once, I have encouraged

you to give more or to respond to emergency needs – and you have done so.

However, it is usually more convenient to give money than time.

In the heat of summer, let us not cool in our relationship with God.

Missionaries still count on our intercessory prayers.

Ministries must have the firm foundation of men as mediators for their cause.

Lost souls desperately need you to speak to the Lord on their behalf, and

we all must never neglect our personal prayer life.

Councilmen are men committed to giving – money and prayers.

Without either, our mission suffers. Thank you for offering both!
